First of all, thank you so much for your well wishes and prayers on yesterday's post. I try to roll with it when life throws me a curve ball, and it's nice to feel the support of others. The power of prayer is interesting to me. I had another friend and former California neighbor contact me via Facebook yesterday because for their family weekly prayer list her 6 year old daughter pulled our holiday card out of the box and she wanted to know what extra prayers we needed this week.
Amazing. And I'm not a hard core praying type, but that really was amazing to me.
Now, onward and forward with another week and hopefully some good news!
Our quest on the Pebbles blog this week is to pick a design team member's project and scraplift it. Well, that was not an easy task to scroll through and look at all the beautiful work of fellow team members! There are quite an array of styles on the team, and there were dozens of projects I had bookmarked to lift.
One team member I had a lot of bookmarks for and who I have admired since we started the team together in 2009 is Suzanne Sergi. I love her clean lines and all the details she adds to her projects. And you should definitely see her work for home decor-Holy Moly! She is very good!
I chose a recent home decor project she made for Pebbles and decided to replicate several things from it.
Here's my take:
I chose to stay with a block design because, well, I've professed my love for block design on one too many occasions, right?!! Instead of using 9 blocks, I decided to go with a block background and use just four. Beach photos tend to be pretty monotone to me so I thought a brighter background would help to make them pop a little more.
I also love the Twitterpated line and stuck to the same line of papers that Suzanne did for her project. I tend to reach for Treehouse and Cats and Dogs most often, but I knew this would look great as well against the blue and sand photos.
I've been wanting to do this layout for some time and just haven't either sat down to do it, or had the right motivation. My sister and her family came to visit us when we lived in NC last year for spring break and we had so much fun. It is such a treat to visit with family when you rarely get to see them and we made the most of it while they were with us. Just wish it wasn't so long between those visits.
For those who have the day off: Enjoy!!
I'm off to work since we had 1 too many snow days and this is a make up day in our school district. Boo Hiss. It's just not right to leave the house when the hubby and girlies are still in PJs!!
