I chronicled my marathon training and the race pretty much to death, but fear not, I'm dreadging it up again, but this time it's in layout form! I took a different spin for 2 of my layouts this month with the Scrapbooking From The Inside Out kit. First, I took the opposite of vulnerable and scrapped about a time I felt strong.
I cut myself down a lot on this whole marathon thing because I was not completely happy with my time and quite honestly, if I never do one again I'll be happy with myself! It wasn't my "thang" if you will. However, I have to get myself credit: I did it. I trained, I ran and I finished all 26.2 torturous miles. I figured that deserved a layout!
No special techniques on this one. Just used the scallop punch and made strips into frames to tone down the brighter pink cardstock.
This one, well, I went the comical route. Those who know me best know that I don't take life too seriously. I loved the prompt this month, and liked the more serious layouts I did, but my sarcastic side took over and voila, you get my weaknesses:
This one took a series of turns along the way! I wanted to white wash the blue cardstock, but I think I needed more water because it came out splotchy. I was ready to ditch it, but gave it a whirl anyway and was happy with it. I painted the Maya Road doily transparency with gray paint to make it stand out a bit more and cut it down to a smaller circle.
So there they are, my superficial weaknesses! Give me some coffee, chocolate and some brainless Bravo tv shows and I'm in heaven!
I've been going through my stash and realized that there is no way in the next 100 years that I'll use everything I have in my little corner of our 4' x 5' computer/craft room.
I have a completely intact Studio Calico Who's Who kit from last month. As I looked through it, much of it I already had and I know I won't use it again. The book stamp is also in the kit, unused. I am selling it for the kit cost ($34.50) plus Priority Shipping ($4.85). Sorry, this is only for US, unless you want to pay the extra shipping to an international address. This really is a great kit and if I didn't have many of the items I'd be all over it! It's sold out on the SC site. If interested, email me at tcpaustenbaugh (at) gmail (dot) com. I accept Paypal.
Have a great weekend! Warmer weather is on it's way to us Northern Virginians!! Yippee!!
Christa - way to go with the marathon, I think that's so awesome.
